You are here:
Add a Number of Retries to an Orchestration Item Definition
You can set the number of retries that an orchestration item attempts after a failure. This topic explains how to set this number for a single orchestration item definition, rather than creating a policy that can be applied more broadly.
If the orchestration item definition has specified both the Number Of Retries and the Retry Policy, then Order Management uses the Retry Policy and ignores the Number of Retries fields. See Configure an Integration Retry Policy
- Open the Orchestration Item Definition window for the item definition that you want to edit. For steps on doing so, see View or Create an Orchestration Item Definition
- Select an existing callout, or create one.
- Click the edit icon beside Number Of Retries and specify the number of retries. If you leave the field blank, the item is retried three times.
- Click Save.
The number of retries is set. If an instance of that orchestration item definition fails, it moves to the Failed state and retries until it either succeeds, or fails the set number of times. If it fails the set number of times, it moves to the Fatally Failed state. You can see the retries listed the execution log.
