Add, Modify, or Remove Workflows on the Customer Portal (Managed Package)
On the customer portal, workflows available to logged in subscribers are listed on the right. Clicking one of these workflows launches the associated OmniScript. The workflows listed here and the OmniScript launched by each workflow are determined by custom metadata records in your org.
This feature is part of the Communications Cloud managed package.
To add, update, or remove workflows on the customer portal:
- In Quick Find, enter Custom and click Custom Metadata Types.
- Go to VPL Console Action and click Manage Records.

To add a new workflow on the customer portal, create a new
record.
- Click New.
- Enter a suitable label and name that allows you to identify this record.
- In Omniscript Display Name, enter the text that you want displayed on the customer portal.
- In Applicable Journey, specify Prepaid if the action is valid for prepaid journeys.
- In Action Category, don't make any changes. This field is used to determine the category under which an action is displayed on the agent console. It isn't used on the customer portal.
- In Display Order enter a number to determine the sequence in which items should be displayed.
- In Omniscript URL, enter the URL for the OmniScript that you want to launch with this item. Ensure that the URL is constructed appropriately. For details about constructing this URL, see Custom Metadata Types and Records Used in Multiplay Subscription Management (Managed Package).
- In Action Context, specify if the workflow should be launched from the account details page or the subscription details page on the customer portal. This field can contain only one value, either Account or Subscription. For workflows that must be listed on both pages on the customer portal, use two separate records, one for the account and another for the subscription.
- In Applicable View, enter Community to display this action on the customer portal.
- Click Save.

To modify an item:
- Go to the item that you want to change and click Edit.

Update the fields as required.
You can update various fields of the custom metadata type to modify the journeys a workflow is associated with, whether a workflow is listed on the account details page or the subscription details page of the customer portal, and which OmniScript is launched by clicking an action.
- Click Save.

To remove an item:
- Go to the item that you want to remove and click Edit.
- In Applicable View, remove Community. This prevents the action from being displayed on the customer portal while allowing it to still be available on the agent console.
- Click Save.
- When you are done modifying the custom metadata that controls the list of actions in the Actions menus on the agent console, you can verify your changes. Log in to the agent console and start an interaction. The Actions menus in the account section and the subscription section show your changes.
