Assetized Root Order Items and Orders

A root order item or order is Assetized when all its associated items have been converted in the Salesforce database to assets (for commercial products) or inventory items (for technical products).

Note

For MACD orders (that is, orders that adjust previously completed orders), a root order item or order is assetized when all of the changes have been applied to the original records.

Key concepts about assetization:

• A root order item can be assetized even if the other root order items aren't ready for assetization. See Staged Assetization

• Child order items are not assetized, regardless of their state, until their parent root order item is assetized. That is, the entire root order item and all its child order items are assetized at once.

• Industries Order Management: For assetizing an entire order, a fulfillment designer places an out of the box Assetize Auto Task orchestration item near the end of the orchestration plan. When this task runs, it creates assets for commercial items, and inventory items for technical products. Additionally, when the Orchestration Plan completes, assetization is invoked again to update assets for commercial items (but not to update inventory items for technical products).

• Industries Order Management: If no Assetize auto task exists in the orchestration plan, then inventory items are not created. However, commercial items are still assetized, regardless of whether there's an Assetize auto task in the orchestration plan.

• Industries Order Management Plus: Orders are automatically assetized when the order is activated. Both assets and inventory items are created.
