In-flight Amendments in Order Management
Industries CPQ and Order Management allow a fulfillment operator to change a submitted order before it reaches the point of no return. These kinds of changes are called in-flight amendments.
This topic is relevant for fulfillment designers who must configure in-flight amendments in Order Management (OM). To actually amend or cancel an in-flight order, see either Amend In-Flight Orders or Cancel an In-Flight Order
- Considerations for Configuring In-Flight Amendments in OM
When you set up Order Management for in-flight amendments, you should take into account the point of no return (when orders can't be modified), amendment and rollback plans, supplemental orders, frozen orders, compensation, superseded order items, and updates to the orchestration plan. - Workflow for amending an order
When a fulfillment operator clicks the Amend button on an order, the following things happen: - Overview of Canceled and Amended In-Flight Orders in Order Management
You can amend an in-flight order before it has reached the point of no return (PONR). - Overview of Supplemental Order Decomposition
When a fulfillment operator amends an order while the order is "in-flight" (that is, it hasn't completed yet), then Vlocity creates a new supplemental order. - Orchestration of Supplemental Orders
When a customer amends or cancels an order, a supplemental order is created. The original order's orchestration plan is updated to adapt to the new requirements of that supplemental order. - Configuring OM for In-Flight Amendments
With Industries Order Management, Spring '20, you can cancel or amend submitted orders before they've reached the point of no return (PONR). - Allow Supplemental Changes after PONR (Point of No Return)
As of the Spring '22 release, you can allow an order to be changed, even after an item in the order has reached the point of no return. Select the Force Supplementals option on an order to allow that order to be amended.
