Order Management Standard: Edit the OrchestrationMode Custom Setting
To switch back and forth between Platform Events mode and Batch Apex mode, you'll edit the OrchestrationMode custom setting. You can change this setting back at any time to stop using platform events. You also must follow the steps in the What's Next section of this page.
New customers who have never installed any version older than Spring '21 are already using Platform Events unless you've switched to Batch Apex mode. You can switch to Batch Apex mode by following these instructions.
To edit OrchestrationMode custom setting, follow these steps:
- If you're going to start using platform settings, then allocate memory to the following partition before continuing to the following steps:
vlocity_cmt_OrchestrationItems - Click the Settings gear icon, then click Setup.
- In the Quick Find field, type Custom Settings, then click Custom Settings.
- In the Custom Settings page, find XOMSetup and click the Manage link next to it. If you don't see XOMSetup, then click the X from among the letters at the top of the screen to filter out most of the options.
- Set the value for OrchestrationMode.
- In the list, click the Edit button next to OrchestrationMode.
- Change the value to PlatformEvents, then click Save. (If you want to stop using platform events, then change the value to BatchApex.
- Set or verify the following XOMSetup properties. For each item in the list below, check the Value column to make sure that it's the value that you want. If it doesn't, then click that property's Edit link to edit the value.

OrchestrationRecoveryJobBatchSize: The size of the retry batch. Default is 50, which is the maximum allowed size due to SFDC calls per transaction limit.

OrchestrationRecoveryWaitPeriodMins: The time in minutes to wait until throttled items are picked up by recovery jobs for retry action. The default is 60 minutes.
