Use the Vlocity Installation Assistant
Perform the steps in this section to complete installation or upgrade tasks for CME or CLM after you have installed the managed package.
- Log in to Salesforce.
- Search for Vlocity Installation Assistant using the App Launcher.
- Click the Vlocity Installation Assistant.
- Click the Assistant tab.
- Click Reload Steps.
- Expand the Filters list if it is not expanded.
- Click the + button to view additional filters.

Click First Install if you are installing for the first time.

Click Upgrade if you are upgrading from a previous version of CLM or CME.

You can use the Vlocity Installation Assistant to:
-
Upgrade any older release of Salesforce Industries Communications, Media, and Energy directly to Salesforce Industries Communications, Media, and Energy Fall '19.
-
Upgrade Salesforce Industries Communications, Media, and Energy Fall '19 to Salesforce Industries Communications, Media, and Energy Winter '20.
-
Upgrade any older release of Salesforce Industries Communications, Media, and Energy since Winter '18 directly to the latest release.

Click Always to do these steps for every install or upgrade. Always shows the required steps for CLM. You must click this filter to see the upgrade step "SFDC Remote Site Setting" for CLM.
Priority
Optionally, click Critical to see a list of all the required installation steps for CME.
Feature
-
For CME, click CME or one of the release names to view a list of all the installation steps for CME.

For CLM, click CLM and [Optional] CLM to view a list of all the installation steps for CLM.
Type
To view a specific type of installation, select one of the following options:

Manual: Select Manual to see only the steps you must complete manually.

Auto: Select Auto to see only the steps that can be done automatically by the Installation Assistant.
Status
Select one or more of the following status filters:

Not Started: Select this filter to see a list of installation or upgrade steps that you have not started.

In Progress: Select this filter to see a list of installation or upgrade steps that are currently in progress.
-
Complete: Select this filter to see a list of installation or upgrade steps that are complete.

Failed: Select this filter to see a list of installation or upgrade steps that have failed. A red cross indicates that the installation step has failed. Review the warning message or the log file to troubleshoot the error.
Show All Warnings
Select this option to see a list of all warnings during the installation or upgrade process.

Follow the instructions to complete each task in the
Installation Assistant.
You must perform the installation manually for steps that are marked with the Show Instruction buttons. Steps that are marked with the Complete button run automatically after you click the button. An automatic step completes automatically as long as you complete the prerequisite steps. If you have not completed the pre-requisite step, you cannot proceed with the next step.

Click Complete All for a group of
steps to have Vlocity perform all the installation tasks for the group.
Click Complete Step next to each individual step to do automatic steps one at a time.
A group of steps appears for some installation or upgrade steps. If you want to view specific steps included in a group, click the plus button to expand the list.

Click Show
Instructions next to the task for manual steps.

For CME, click Open Instructions and follow the instructions for the step.

For CLM, the instructions appear in a new dialog.

After you complete the manual steps, go back to the Vlocity Installation Assistant and click Mark Complete on the Instructions dialog.

A green checkmark indicates that the installation for that step is complete.

A dash indicates that the installation for that step is not started.

Optionally,
click Notes at any time during the
installation or upgrade process to keep track of any personal notes for each step.
Notes is a free-form text editor where you can type your own notes for future reference. The default value is set to Not Started.Optionally, click Logs to view and troubleshoot errors during the installation or upgrade process.

Click View Details to view the system log information. This takes you to the Details page.

Go back to the Installation Assistant after you have viewed the log details.

Click Load More to view additional log details.
The following jobs will display a message indicating that verification failed even though the jobs executed successfully. Ignore the message and proceed to the next step. If there are errors during the execution of these jobs, the execution complete message will not be displayed.
