Configure Identifier Records for External Scheduling
Identifier records map provider, patient, facility, and asset records in Health Cloud to
corresponding records in an external scheduling system, such as an electronic health record (EHR)
system.

Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions with Health
Cloud
User Permissions Needed
To use Health Cloud
Health Cloud Foundation permission set
From the App Launcher, find and select Identifiers.
Click New.
For Source System, enter cerner, epic, or
athena to specify the external scheduling system to which the
identifier record maps.
For Parent Record, select the Health Cloud object for which you want to create the
identifier record. Then enter a specific record.
For a healthcare practitioner record, the parent record is the Contact object. For a
patient or facility record, the parent record is the Account object. For an asset record, the
parent record is the Asset object.
For ID Value, enter the value of the external system identifier.
Note
For facility identifier records (athenahealth departments), athenahealth systems require both a practice ID and a department ID. To fulfill this
requirement, you must include the practice ID and department ID in the ID Value in
this format: ah-practice.id=xxx__sep__ah-department.id=xxx.

If you haven’t already done so, for provider scheduling, create a healthcare practitioner
facility record that specifies a source system and operating hours. You typically create
healthcare practitioner facility records when you set up Provider Search. To display times in
the correct timezones, Intelligent Appointment Management uses the operating hours you specify
in healthcare practitioner facility records. During appointment scheduling, Intelligent
Appointment Management shows time slots in the time zone of the logged-in user. See Connect Healthcare Practitioners with Facilities.
After you’re done updating identifiers and the healthcare practitioner facility record,
synchronize Provider Search data. See Synchronize Provider Search Data Manually.
