          Add National Provider Identifiers

          Intelligent Appointment Management uses a numeric ID to specify a practitioner or facility. In the US, this ID is the National Provider Identifier (NPI), but you can substitute the ID used in your country or region. To record a provider’s ID, create a Healthcare Provider NPI record.

          Practitioner NPI records apply only to provider scheduling. Facility NPI records apply to both provider scheduling and asset scheduling.

          Note
          Note If you use an external scheduling system and a provider has no NPI configured, the Appointment Management console doesn't display time slots for that provider.

          You can create NPI records for practitioners and facilities even if you don’t use an external scheduling system.

          1. From the App Launcher, find and select Healthcare Provider NPIs.
          2. Click New.
          3. Enter a name for the record.
          4. For practitioners, enter Individual for NPI Type and select a practitioner.
            For facilities, enter Organization for NPI Type and select an account that represents a facility.
            Intelligent Appointment Management requires NPIs for practitioners, but not for facilities.
          5. Enter the NPI number.
          6. Select Active.
          7. Save your changes.

          Sync Provider Search data and confirm that the healthcare provider NPIs sync to the Care Provider Searchable Field records. See Synchronize Provider Search Data Manually.
