View, Edit, and Delete Saved Context Definitions

Extend or clone a standard definition, or clone a custom definition and modify it to meet your requirements. All your context definitions are listed on the Context Definitions page, under the Custom Definitions and Standard Definitions tabs. The Custom Definitions tab shows the definitions created by the customer, and the Standard Definitions tab shows the definitions available with the product.

To load, view, edit, and delete context definitions:

Context Service Admin

On the Context Definitions page, you can create, delete, edit, extend, upgrade, and clone a context definition. You can also make a context definition active or inactive.

Note You can extend or clone a standard definition, or clone a custom definition, and modify it to meet your new requirements.

Important

Changes made to Salesforce metadata (such as modifying Salesforce Object fields) can take up to 24 hours to reflect in a context instance.

To clear the runtime schema cache make a DELETE request to the endpoint /connect/context-runtime-schema/clear. The cache is then refreshed during the next context build request.

Load Context Definitions

Load context definitions for your org.

  1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Context Service, and then select Context Service Settings.
  2. To load the predefined context definitions, turn on the toggle next to Context Definitions.

View Context Definitions

View all your context definitions on the Context Definitions page.

  1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Context Service, and then select Context Definitions.
  2. On the Standard Definitions and Custom Definitions tabs, view all the context definitions associated with your solution.

Edit Context Definitions

You can edit an active or an inactive context definition. You can delete only an inactive context definition. When a context definition is active, you can add new instances of the artifacts such as nodes, attributes, and mappings, but you can't edit or delete the existing artifacts.

Important
  • You can’t edit or delete a standard context definition that’s shipped with your Industries Cloud solution. You can extend or clone it and make your modifications.
  • For the newly added node or attribute of an exisiting node, make sure that you create a mapping to capture the relevant data input.
  • The deletion of a parent node deletes the child nodes associated with it.
  1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Context Service, and then select Context Definitions.
  2. Edit a context definition.
    • From the action menu, select the definition that you want to edit, click Arrow pointing down , and then select Edit.
    • On the Context Definition Details page, click the definition that you want to edit, and then select Edit.
  3. Make your edits, and then save your changes.

Delete Context Definitions

Delete your context definitions.

  1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Context Service, then select Context Definitions
  2. Select the context definition that you’d like to delete.
  3. Click Dropdown icon and select Delete.
