Dynamic Revenue Orchestrator Integration in Industries CPQ

Dynamic Revenue Orchestrator Integration in Industries CPQ

Salesforce is boosting Dynamic Revenue Orchestrator (DRO) with powerful new tools and interfaces. Key enhancements include a new Decomposition Workspace, a dedicated Fallout Library, and a streamlined Fulfillment Workspace.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Edition.

This pre-integrated platform provides direct and unified integration with Industries Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ). Advanced analytics and native Data Cloud integration provide comprehensive visibility into order management insights. Future roadmaps introduce AI and intelligent agents to automate and optimize revenue operations.

The key benefits of DRO begin with its Unified Platform & Development, which provides a single platform featuring a self-service environment setup and standardized Apex development. This foundation enhances with Native Salesforce Extensibility, leading to easier customization and a low barrier to adoption. It provides Enhanced Access & Configuration through tools like Flow, Omnistudio, and direct database access.

DRO ensures automated operations and reliability by using DevOps for push upgrades. This approach eliminates manual setup and maximizes the core logging and reliability of the Salesforce Platform. This pair with significant agility & performance improvements to support larger orders and optimize database performance.

Finally, DRO improves the User Experience & provides actionable insights by granting full access to native Salesforce reporting dashboards, and Einstein analytic tools.

Comparison of DRO, OM, and OM+: DRO is a strategic future platform, designed to be a modern and scalable system. DRO integrates with the existing Enterprise Product Catalog (EPC) without requiring commercial data migration. DRO uses "context definitions" during integration with Industries CPQ to ensure accurate data exchange and an uninterrupted transition.

          • CME-DRO Feature Availability and OM Comparison matrix
The CME - DRO Interoperability feature is available for these features, according to the Order Management Standards.
          • Mapping Decomposition Scopes from OM to DRO
Identify the Decomposition Scopes for processing orders when migrating from the Order Management (OM) system to the new Dynamic Revenue Orchestrator (DRO) system.
          • Required Licenses and Provisioning for CME - DRO Interoperabilty
The licenses for DRO setup in the CME managed package.
          • Configuration and Setup for CME - DRO
Dynamic Revenue Orchestrator (DRO) provides a centralized framework to design and streamline complex order fulfillment. By decomposing orders into manageable tasks, it enables real-time tracking and automated orchestration.
          • Operate DRO Alongside OM and OM+
Managing technical inventory in common entities: Both the standard Order Management (OM) and the DRO system have the shared entity location for the technical inventory items. This location is an object called vlocity_cmt__InventoryItem__c. In OM Plus, the system stores the entity externally.
          • Create the Custom Context Definition
To support order fulfillment, DRO uses permissions linked to context definitions. To accommodate specific business logic, you can create a custom context definition by extending the standard Sales Transaction Context Definition.
          • Understanding the EPC-to-PCM Transformation Layer
The system implements a transformation layer to ensure compatibility between EPC and DRO. This layer translates product data from the EPC model into a canonical PCM format consumable by DRO. This implementation makes DRO catalog-agnostic, removing any ‌modification of existing commercial or technical catalog data.
          • Use Case Scenarios for CME - DRO
Here are advanced logic examples, which automate complex order lifecycles from initial product decomposition to mid-fulfillment amendments and asset relocation. The process ensures proper technical execution across move orders and legacy systems while synchronizing staged assetization with commercial intent. By using attribute-based rules and point-of-no-return (PONR) logic, the system makes sure that technical fulfillment remains perfectly synchronized with commercial intent.
