AI Summary Add-Ons and Permissions
Users access AI Summary (formerly Einstein Summary) in their Salesforce org through supported editions, add-ons, and permissions.
Required Add-On Licenses
The products and add-on licenses in your Salesforce org determine whether you have the necessary flows and prompts to use AI Summary. These add-ons are required:
- Industry Service Excellence (EinsteinForSvcInovtAddOn)
- Einstein GPT Platform (EinsteinGPTPlatformAddOn)
- Einstein GPT Prompt Builder (EinsteinGPTPromptBuilderAddOn)
- Einstein GPT Field Generation (EinsteinGPTFieldGenerationAddOn)
Required Permissions
AI Summary works with Einstein GPT and Prompt Builder. So, you must assign these permission sets to your users:
- Einstein GPT Prompt Template User: Assign this permission to the users who use Prompt Builder.
- Prompt Template Manager: Assign this permission to users who will create and manage prompt templates.
- Einstein for Service Innovations : Assign this permission to users who will access Embedded AI component.
To see what’s included in a permission set, click View Summary on the permission set’s detail page in Setup.
To manage permissions, go to Setup, select the permission sets, click Manage Assignments, select the user, and assign the required permissions.
Customize Permissions
If you customize AI Summary—for example, by adding fields—create a custom permission set. To remove user permissions from the default permission set, create a muting permission set. Then, use permission set groups to assign users the default permission set in addition to your custom permission sets. This approach is an alternative to cloning permission sets and ensures that users always have the latest default permissions.
