Configure Business Rules Engine Components
The demo Business Rules Engine (BRE) components in Program Management Console are examples of formulas taken from the Utilities eTRM. Configure the components to calculate the rebates or other benefits of programs.
In Program Management Console, these Business Rules Engine components are used for demo:
Expression Sets:
-
Heatpump Energy Savings Benefit Formula - Gives the total energy savings for a heatpump product.
-
Heatpump Rebate Benefit Formula - Calculates the rebate benefit for heatpump products based on their capacity.
-
Insulation Energy Savings Benefit Formula - Calculates the total energy saved by insulation based on the area.
-
Utilities Application Approval Rule - Sets an action plan based on the program name from the Utilities Application Approval DM decision matrix. Automatically approves or rejects applications within a certain estimated incentive range.
Decision Matrices:
-
Utilities Application Approval DM - Associates a program name with their estimated incentive and action plan template.
Each Benefit Type within a product has a BRE expression set that calculates the benefit.
For example, for the Heat Pump product, an expression set calculates the Energy Savings in kWh, and another expression set calculates the Rebate in Dollars.
- In the App Launcher, search for Business, and click Business Rules Engine.
-
In the list, click the expression set that you want to customize.
For example, click Utilities Application Approval Rule.
-
On the Details tab, in the Expression Set Versions area, select a version.
For example, click Utilities Application Approval Rule V1.The version opens in the expression set builder.
-
Make your changes in the expression set builder.
For example, you can automatically approve applications that have an estimated incentive value that's less than 200 instead of 100.
- Save your changes.
