Work with Opportunity Groups in Large Account Sales Management

Work with Opportunity Groups in Large Account Sales Management

A group is a named set of member types such as service points, premises, or service accounts that you can use to manage large numbers of quote line items in a multi-site quote.

You can create custom groups of member types to suit your requirements. For example, you could group service points that belong to a certain region, or service points that have service type such as Gas. Each member type can be part of only one custom group. This ensures that you don't accidentally order multiple overlapping products for the same member in different groups.

Opportunity groups make it easy for you to manage multi-site quotes where you need to allocate specific products to multiple quote members.

This feature is available only for orgs that use Standard Omnistudio Content. See Considerations for Using OmniStudio with Energy & Utilities Cloud

Enable Copy Opportunity Groups for Energy & Utilities

By default, the ability to copy groups from Opportunity to Quote is turned off. You can enable Copy Opportunity Groups by editing the Multiservice Omniscript in your org.

          1. Log in to your target org.
          2. In the App Launcher, go to All Items and click OmniScripts.
          3. In the Find in Page box, search for the MultiService/CPQConfiguration OmniScript and then click the latest active Multi-Language version of the OmniScript.
          4. Click Deactivate Version.
          5. When the OmniScript is deactivated, click SetValues.
          6. In the Element Value Map, set the Value corresponding to copyOpportunityGroups to True.

          7. Click Script Configuration.
          8. Click Save, then click Activate.

Create Opportunity Groups for Energy & Utilities

After you upload a list of service points to an opportunity, you can organize these service points into groups. Using groups allows you to make the same configuration decisions for multiple service points, premises, or service accounts at one time. It simplifies the quote and order process by allowing you to make a selection once and apply it to all the members of one or more groups.

          Before You Begin

You can also create groups in the multi-site quote and order workflow, however creating opportunity groups goes one step backward where it groups together member types that belong to the same opportunity, thereby eliminating the need to group them at quote level.

          1. On the Opportunities tab, click the opportunity name where you want to create the group.

The Opportunity record page is displayed.

          2. Select Manage Opportunity Groups from the Action drop-down.
          3. Select the Service Points tab.
          4. Select the checkbox for each service point that you want to add to a group.

If you select a group, all entries in that group are selected.

            Select group entries
          5. Click Add to Group.
          6. Click Add New Group, enter a unique group name and description and click Save.
          7. A new group is created and the selected service points are moved under the new group.
          8. Use the same steps to create groups of premises and service accounts.

Modify or Remove an Opportunity Group for Energy & Utilities

After you create a group, you can continue to work with the group by adding and removing members. This might be required if you add new member types to the group or if you need to expand or reduce the scope of a group.

To remove service points from a group or delete a group:

Selected service points in the Service Point tab
          5. Click Add to Group.
          6. Click the existing group name where you want to add new service points, and click Save.

New service points are added to the existing group.

          7. Similarly, use the above steps to modify groups of premises and service accounts.
          8. Continue if you need to remove service points from a group or delete a group. Otherwise, you're done.
          9. On the Opportunities tab, click the opportunity name where you want to create the group.

The Opportunity record page is displayed.

          10. Select Manage Opportunity Groups from the Action drop-down.
          11. Select the Service Points tab.
          12. Expand the group that you want to modify, and select the checkbox for each service point that you want to remove from the group.
          13. Click Remove From Group.

The selected members are moved to the No Group list. If you selected all the members of a group, the group is left with no members. You can either remove the group or add members to it later.

          14. If you want to delete a group, select the group name and click Remove Group.
          15. Similarly, use the above steps to remove premises and service accounts from groups.
