Enable Intelligent Form Reader and Configure Settings

Enable Intelligent Form Reader to use optical character recognition for extracting data. Configure the maximum number of pages that can be extracted at a time and the confidence score threshold. Enable Amazon Textract Analyze ID to extract information from identity documents.

Intelligent Form Reader is available for an additional cost with the Intelligent Form Reader add-on license.
User Permissions Needed
To enable Intelligent Form Reader and configure settings:

System Administrator profile

  1. Turn on Intelligent Form Reader.
    1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Intelligent Form Reader, and then select Intelligent Form Reader.
    2. Turn on Enable Intelligent Form Reader.
  2. Define the global content extraction settings.
    Note
    Note The Maximum Pages field and the Confidence Score Threshold field of the global content extraction settings are available only in Health Cloud.
    1. In the Global Content Extraction Settings section, click Edit Settings.
    2. Enter the maximum number of consecutive pages from the first page of a document that you want to send for content extraction at a time.
      The default value for Maximum Pages is 5. If a user selects pages that are already scanned, the pages aren’t counted against the limit.
    3. To indicate the reliability of data in a document, enter a number from 0 to 100 as the confidence score threshold. You can enter up to two decimal places.
      When users create a record, fields that score below the threshold are highlighted.
    4. To extract information from identity documents, enable Amazon Textract Analyze ID.
      The AnalyzeID API is used to extract information from identity documents.
    5. To extract unstructured information from the documents, enable Amazon Textract Tables.
      The Analyze Document Tables API is used to extract information from the documents.
  3. Give users Create, Read, Edit, and Delete permissions to these objects that handle document data.
    • Document Checklist Item
    • Location
    • Received Document
    • OCR Document Scan Result
    To keep the ownership of related records in sync, define the same user permissions and queue configuration for the Received Document object and the OCR Document Scan Result object.
    Note
    Note Document Checklist Item permissions are controlled by the parent record.
  4. Enable image preview for the documents that users work with.
    1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Salesforce Files, and then select General Settings.
    2. Click Edit, and then select Display alternative file previews.
    3. Save your changes.
