Required Interest Tags Permission
To use Interest Tags, Salesforce admins and users need Access Interest Tags for Financial Service Cloud, a user permission, to create and assign interest tags. The products and licenses in your org determine whether you have access to this permission and how you assign it. Typically, the permission is included in a product-provided permission set.
Most products use the same permission set.

Some products provide different permission sets or permission set groups.

You can use the Interaction Summary permission set or you can assign one of these permission set groups. Interest Tags work with many use cases. We just provide these permission sets for your convenience. |

To see what’s included in a permission set, click View Summary on the permission set’s detail page in Setup. Review your cloud’s documentation, too.
Other Required Permissions
We recommend that you create a permission set for these other required permissions. You can then use permission set groups and muting permission sets to fine-tune user access.
| Type of Permission | Name of Permission or Object | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| User permission | Assign Topics | Interest Tags uses Topics behind the scenes. These user permissions are required to assign, create, delete, and edit interest tags respectively. To restrict who has access to create, edit, and delete interest tags and tag categories, give most of your users the Assign Topics permission only. |

| Object permission | Interest Tags | Interest Tags store data in multiple objects. Appropriate object permissions (Read, Create, Edit, Delete, View All Records, and Modify All Records) on these objects are required to work with interest tags. To restrict who can edit the names of Interest Tags and Tag Categories, grant most of your users View All Records and Read access. |

Customizing Permissions
If you customize this feature, such as adding fields, create a custom permission set. If you want to remove user permissions from the default permission set, create a muting permission set. Then, use permission set groups to assign users the default permission set in addition to your custom permission sets. This approach ensures users always have the latest default permissions, and is an alternative to cloning permission sets.
Customize Sharing Settings for Tag Categories
Set up user access to tag categories that belong to work groups outside of their work group by using sharing rules. When the default internal access for tag categories is set to private, create sharing rules to grant users or groups access to tag categories.
