Scheduling
The athenahealth Integration Client app connects to the Appointment Scheduling Process API to help schedule, modify, and cancel appointments. The app interacts with athenahealth's proprietary scheduling API endpoints and handles authentication, request formatting, and data translation. The app takes the output of the generic FHIR client and translates it into a format that athenahealth's proprietary appointment APIs expect.
Patient Details Management
Use the athenahealth Integration Client app to connect Health Cloud and the athenahealth EHR system to support real-time data write-back for patient records. The app provides a two-way, real-time data exchange, which automatically bypasses the requirement to build and maintain complex custom integrations. Contact center reps can quickly register new patients, update patient details, create patient cases (messages to the provider or care team), and create medication requests (prescription refills) in athenahealth from Health Cloud by using Agentforce. Medication requests in Health Cloud create patient cases in athenahealth with the refill subclass.

Connect to athenahealth systems by enabling the MuleSoft athenahealth Integration Client and Appointment Scheduling Integration App. Set up athenahealth as an external back-end scheduling system to manage provider availability and patient appointments efficiently. - Prepare for System Integrations
For integrated appointment scheduling, connect athenahealth to Health Cloud. This requires enabling the athenahealth Integration Client and configuring the Appointment Scheduling Integration App for seamless data management. - Create an Agent to Manage athenahealth Patient Details

By integrating with Data 360, it offers visibility into entitlement usage and operational limits to help you avoid overages. The Digital Wallet tracks billable usage for athenahealth appointment management and data-write operations, such as patient registration and medication refills.
