Home Health Default Scheduling Policy
Scheduling policies determine how the Field Service engine matches patients with care resources in the field for their visits. Home Health offers a default scheduling policy that you can use to accelerate your implementation.
Required Editions
| Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions with Health Cloud and the Home Health Add-on license |
The Home Health default scheduling policy is intended for you to use as a template to get your implementation started. If the default policy doesn’t meet the scheduling needs of your organization, create your own scheduling policy with the appropriate rules and objectives.
Generate the default scheduling policy by clicking Enable Default Scheduling Policy and then Enable on the Home Health Settings page in Setup. You can then use the App Launcher to open Scheduling Policies and view the policy.
You can view the policy's work rules and service objectives from the record's Related tab. Work rules refine the list of candidates for a service appointment by rejecting service resources that violate any rule. Service objectives indicate your scheduling goals.
The default scheduling policy uses these work rules to filter the list of appropriate care resources for visit assignment:
- Active Resources
- Due Date
- Earliest Start Permitted
- Excluded Resources
- Match Skills
- Match Territory
- Required Service Resource
- Resource Availability
- Scheduled End
- Scheduled Start
- Service Appointment Visiting Hours
- Service Crew Resource Availability
In addition to these work rules, the Home Health default scheduling policy uses certain service objectives and their specified weight to determine how to rank the available options for each assignment. Here’s the set of service objectives that we use and their corresponding weight.
| Service Objective Name | Weight |
|---|---|
| ASAP | 1 |
| Preferred Service Resource | 10 |
| Resource Priority | 1 |
| Skill Level | 1 |
