required for each type of service. Use the Work Type and Skill objects, and related objects, to
record these preferences and skills.
Required Editions
Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions with Health Cloud
and the Home Health Add-on license
Work Type represents the different types of services offered by your organization, and specifies
details about those services. Define skills and preferences in the Skill metadata type, and
group them in terms of their type using the Skill Type metadata. Use the Service Resource
Skill object to assign skills to service resources and the Skill Requirement object to assign
skills to work types.
Define Skills and Skill Types for Home Health Different types of services require different skills from the caregivers who perform them. Additionally, patients often have different preferences for their caregivers. Use the Skills page in Setup to define both caregiver skills and patient preferences.
Create Work Types for Home Health Create work type records to represent the different types of home health services that your organization provides. After you create work types, you can relate skills to the work types.
Set Up Service Objectives for Home Health Service objectives indicate your scheduling goals and help in efficient resource assignment. First, verify that all required user profiles use the Skill Preference record type and page layout as the default for the Service Objective object. Then, create service objectives for each skill type that you have set up for your home health agency.
Add Service Objectives to Home Health Scheduling Policy After you create service objectives for each skill type, add the objectives to Home Health’s default scheduling policy and specify the weight. This configuration helps Home Health to consider the weight defined for each skill and assign the most suitable care resource to patients.
