Account Fields
Your page layout and field-level security settings determine which account fields are visible and editable. Here are the most common account fields used in business and household accounts.

| Field | Description |

| Account Name | The account that the contact is linked to. Enter the account name, select the account from a list, or create an account. |
| Account Number | Tracking or reference number for the account. The maximum is 40 characters. |
| Account Owner | The assigned owner of the account. |
| Account Record Type | Name of the field that determines which picklist values are available for the record. |
| Account Site | Information about the account’s location. Up to 80 characters are allowed. |
| Assistant | The assistant’s name. Up to 40 characters are allowed. |
| Asst. Phone | Phone number of the assistant. |
| Annual Revenue | Amount of revenue reported in a year. |
| Billing Address | Address used for billing. |
| Billing City | City portion of the billing address. Up to 40 characters are allowed. |
| Billing Country | Country portion of the billing address. The entry is selected from a picklist of standard values or entered as text. If the field is a text field, enter up to 80 characters. |
| Billing State/Province | State or province portion of the billing address. The entry is selected from a picklist of standard values or entered as text. If the field is a text field, enter up to 80 characters. |
| Billing Street | Street address used for billing. Up to 255 characters are allowed. |
| Billing ZIP/Postal Code | ZIP code for the billing address. |
| Birthdate | The contact’s birthday. Click the field to choose a date from the calendar. |
| Care Plan | Case ID and name of a care plan. |
| Contact Owner | The contact’s assigned owner. Not available in Personal Edition. |
| Contact Record Type | The name of the field that determines which picklist values are available for the record. |
| Created By | The user who created the contact. Includes creation date and time. Read only. |
| Department | The associated business or organizational unit. Up to 80 characters are allowed. |
| Description | The contact’s description. Maximum 32 KB of data. The first 255 characters appear in reports. |
| Disabled | Indicates whether the person is considered disabled. |
| A valid email address for the contact. Up to 80 characters are allowed. | |
| Employees | Number of people employed by the account. |
| Fax | The contact’s fax number. Up to 40 characters are allowed. |
| First Name | The contact’s first name as displayed on the contact edit page. Up to 40 characters are allowed. |
| Gender | The contact’s gender. |
| Home Phone | The contact’s home phone number. Up to 40 characters are allowed. |
| Institution | Indicates whether the patient lives in an institution. |
| Individual ID | Identifier for the individual. |
| Individual Type | Record type assigned to the individual. |
| Industry | Primary business of account. Each picklist value can have up to 40 characters. |
| Last Modified By | The user who last changed the contact fields, including modification date and time. This field doesn’t track changes that were made to related list items on the contact. Read only. |
| Last Name | The contact’s last name as displayed on the contact edit page. Up to 80 characters are allowed. |
| Lead Source | The record source, for example, Advertisement, Partner, or Web. The entry is selected from a picklist of available values, which the administrator sets. Maximum 40 characters for each picklist value. |
| Low Income | Indicates whether the patient falls within low income guidelines. |
| Mailing City | The city in the mailing address. Up to 40 characters are allowed. |
| Mailing Country | The country in the mailing address. Up to 80 characters are allowed. |
| Mailing State | The state or province in the mailing address. Up to 80 characters are allowed. |
| Mailing Street | The street in the mailing address. Up to 255 characters are allowed. |
| Mailing Zip/Postal Code | The zip or postal code in the mailing address. Up to 20 characters are allowed. |
| Medicaid Eligibility Status | Indicates whether the person is eligible for Medicaid. |
| Medical Record Number | The medical record number used to identify the patient. |
| Enrollment Type | The person’s enrollment type in Medicare. |
| Mobile | The contact’s mobile phone number. Up to 40 characters are allowed. |
| OREC | The original reason for the entitlement code. |
| Other City | The city in another address for the contact. Up to 40 characters are allowed. |
| Other Country | The country in another address for the contact. The entry is selected from a picklist of standard values or entered as text. If the field is a text field, enter up to 80 characters. |
| Other State | The state or province in another address for the contact. The entry is selected from a picklist of standard values or entered as text. If the field is a text field, enter up to 80 characters. |
| Other Street | The street address in another address for the contact. Up to 255 characters are allowed. |
| Other Zip/Postal Code | The zip or postal code in another address for the contact. Up to 20 characters are allowed. |
| Other Phone | Another phone number for the contact. Up to 40 characters are allowed. |
| Ownership | The company’s ownership type, such as public or private. |
| Parent Account | The parent company for a company that is a subsidiary of a larger company or organization. The parent account must be an existing account in Salesforce. You can enter the account name, or select or create an account using the lookup icon. |
| Phone | The contact’s primary phone number. Up to 40 characters are allowed. |
| Primary Contact | The primary go-to contact for all communication with that organization or household. For a household, the first contact, typically the contact you used to create the household, is automatically assigned as the primary contact. An organization or household can have only one primary contact. |
| Rating | How this account is rated from a picklist of available values. |
| Reports To | The name of the contact’s manager. Enter a contact name, or select a contact from the list. |
| Salutation | The title for addressing the contact, for example, Mr., Ms., or Dr. The entry is selected from a picklist of available values, which the administrator sets. Maximum 40 characters. |
| Shipping Address | Address to ship to for the account. |
| Shipping City | City portion of the primary mailing or shipping address. Up to 40 characters are allowed. |
| Shipping Country | Country portion of the primary mailing or shipping address. The entry is selected from a picklist of standard values or entered as text. If the field is a text field, enter up to 80 characters. |
| Shipping State/Province | State or province portion of the primary mailing or shipping address. The entry is selected from a picklist of standard values or entered as text. If the field is a text field, enter up to 80 characters. |
| Shipping Street | Primary mailing or shipping street address of the account. Up to 255 characters are allowed. |
| Shipping Zip/Postal Code | Zip or postal code portion of the primary mailing or shipping address. Up to 20 characters are allowed. |
| Source System | The system that created the record and owns update rights to it. |
| Source System ID | The ID of an external record. |
| Type | The type of account, such as business or individual. |
| Ticker Symbol | The abbreviation used to identify publicly traded shares of a particular stock. Also known as the stock symbol. Up to 20 characters are allowed. |
| Website | The URL of the account’s website, for example, www.acme.com. Up to 255 characters are allowed, but only the first 50 are displayed. |
