            Create a Custom Record Type to Represent Households

            Set up a custom household page layout with the appropriate fields and create a record type to represent it.

            Required Editions

            Available in: Lightning Experience

            Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions with Health Cloud

            Make sure that the field-level security of the Source System Identifier, Status Reason, Source System, and Parent Record Type fields is set to visible for all profiles.

            1. From the object management settings for Account, select Page Layouts.
            2. To create a page layout for Household, click New.
            3. Select Household Layout from the dropdown next to Existing Page Layout, and type a name for the new layout.
            4. Save your work.
            5. Add fields to the new household layout. For example, Primary Contact.
            6. Create a record type. Go to Record Type, and click New. Make sure to select Household from the dropdown next to Existing Record Type.
            7. Create a label name that matches the name of the new household page layout you created.
            8. Select the checkbox for active.
            9. Select the checkbox for Make Available next to the profile you want to assign the new record type to, and click Next.
            10. Select Apply one layout to all profiles and then select the page layout you created.
            11. Save your changes.
