Required Editions
Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions with Life
Sciences Cloud, Life Sciences Cloud for Customer Engagement Add-on license, and the
Life Sciences Customer Engagement managed package.
Because Life Sciences Cloud is built on the core Salesforce platform, you can configure
much of the mobile app experience using familiar Salesforce features, such as data access
controls, Lightning record pages, and page layouts. Use the Life Sciences Cloud Admin
Console to apply mobile-specific settings and sync your changes so they are available to
users in the mobile app.
Create Object Metadata Cache Configuration The Life Sciences Cloud Mobile app doesn’t automatically load all Salesforce objects and related data. Configure the object metadata cache to define which objects the mobile app stores locally and whether data syncs one-way or two-way between your Salesforce org and the mobile app. This configuration makes sure your sales reps have access to the data they need in the mobile app.
Generate Metadata Cache Sync your configuration changes to the Life Sciences Cloud Mobile app by generating a metadata cache. This generated metadata cache includes object schemas and metadata definitions that the mobile app stores locally to support both online and offline modes. Generate a new metadata cache whenever you update Lightning record pages, page layouts, object or schema changes, new or modified feature settings, or permission updates.
Configure Application Settings Configure essential Life Sciences Cloud Mobile app settings, including default browser behavior, security controls such as password type, and user access to supported features. By using these settings, you can also control notifications, search capabilities, and the overall UI to customize the app to your needs.
Set Up Profile-Based App Settings Use profile-based application settings to configure parameters to customize Life Sciences Cloud Mobile app settings for specific profiles.
Configure UI Settings Configure custom UI components for the Life Sciences Cloud Mobile app. Create and manage records that define how tabs and static resources are shown in the Life Sciences Cloud Mobile app.
Manage Translations for the Life Sciences Cloud Mobile App The Life Sciences Cloud Mobile app uses native Salesforce translation functionality. If multiple languages are enabled in your Salesforce org, configure translations so that your global users can access the app in their preferred language. Configure translations in Translation Workbench, then generate a translation file for mobile users to download to their devices.
