          Configure Application Settings

          Configure essential Life Sciences Cloud Mobile app settings, including default browser behavior, security controls such as password type, and user access to supported features. By using these settings, you can also control notifications, search capabilities, and the overall UI to customize the app to your needs.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience
          Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions with Life Sciences Cloud, Life Sciences Cloud for Customer Engagement Add-on license, and the Life Sciences Customer Engagement managed package.
          User Permissions Needed
          To configure application settings: Life Sciences Commercial Admin permission set
          1. From the App Launcher, find and select the Life Sciences Commercial app.
          2. Click Admin Console.
          3. Select Mobile and then select Application Settings.
          4. Select the default browser to use for the View Online functionality.
            The possible values include: Chrome, Safari, and Edge. If a field user doesn’t have the configured browser on their mobile device (iPad), it defaults to Safari.
          5. Select the password type for the mobile app.

            The possible values include:

            • Numeric: Requires a 4-digit number with no additional validation.
            • Alpha Numeric: Requires a 4-digit number with validation. Repeating digits (for example, 1111) and sequential characters (for example, 1234) aren’t allowed.
            • Complex Numeric: Requires a password that includes letters, numbers, and symbols. The password must be between 8 and 40 characters and include at least one number, one symbol, one letter, and one uppercase letter. Repeating or sequential characters (for example, 1111, aaaa, 1234, or abcd) aren’t allowed.
          6. Select the number of times the mobile app dashboard can be refreshed in an hour to manage data usage and performance.
          7. Enter the full URL to download the latest version of the mobile app from the App Store.
            This URL can be your App Store or your organization’s mobile device management URL. The URL should contain a https:// or ftp:// protocol.
          8. Select the settings that apply to your configuration based on your organization’s needs.
            1. To show the View Online option in the user’s profile menu so they can log in to the Salesforce org from the device’s web browser, select Let users use View Online option on the home screen.
            2. To enable users to view the source report on Salesforce, select Let users view reports.
            3. To enable app background notifications, select Enable Background Notifications.
            4. To enable advanced search for your users, select Enable advanced search.
            5. To enable advanced search for lookups, select Use Advanced Search for lookups.
            6. To enable advanced search for account lookups, select Use Advanced Search for account lookups.
            7. To let users override the lookup search fields, select Let users override the lookup search fields.
            8. To enable dynamic actions for your users, select Enable Dynamic Actions.
            9. To let users publish platform events, select Let users publish platform events.
            10. To suppress app upgrade prompts until the matador update date is reached, select Hide app upgrade notifications.
            11. To always show help text on the screen instead of only when hovering over an info icon, select Show persistent help text always shows help text on the screen.
            12. To show all questions leading up to a branching question on a single page, select Enable Survey Branching Single Page.
            13. To show a confirmation message when a survey is submitted from the mobile app, select Enable Survey Confirmation.
          9. Save your changes.
