HCP License Validation
Ensure healthcare professionals (HCPs) have valid licenses before they receive hand-carried samples or request shipments.

License validation is a compliance feature that verifies an HCP's state, DEA, or state distributor license against a visit location or shipping address. This feature helps your organization enforce regulatory requirements for sample drops and Direct to Practitioner shipments. It supports State licenses, DEA licenses for controlled substances, and State Distributor Licenses (SDL).
License Indicators
When validation is enabled, license validity icons provide immediate feedback on the Visit Engagement page:
- Green Check: The license is valid.
- Red X: The license is invalid, expired, or missing.
Icons appear below the Place (Address) field in the Visit Information section for sample drops, and below the Shipping Address field in the Direct to Practitioner section for shipment requests.
Validation Formula
If a validation formula is specified in Admin Console | License Management for the license, that formula is used to evaluate validity. Otherwise, the IsLicenseValidated field uses this default formula:

Configure state license validation to verify that healthcare professionals (HCP) have a valid license to receive samples in a specific state. - Configure DEA License Validation
Configure Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license validation to verify that healthcare professionals can compliantly receive controlled substances. - Configure State Distributor License Validation
Configure SDL validation to verify that healthcare professionals can receive samples categorized as dangerous drugs, such as Terminal Distributor of Dangerous Drugs (TDDD).
