          Customizations in Advertising Sales Management

          The Media Ad Sales Management app is a one-stop shop where ad sales admins, media planners, and sales reps can complete their one-time or everyday tasks related to configuring targeting options, managing opportunities, media proposals, media plans, and converting media plans to orders. Admins can customize the Media Ad Sales Management app based on the typical ways in which the company’s ad sales admins, media planners, and sales reps are most likely to interact with the app.

          • Navigation Bar Items for Media Ad Sales Management App
            Admins can edit the navigation bar of the Media Ad Sales Management app and add the objects that users who use the app are most likely to access from the app.
          • Related List Customizations for Advertising Sales Management
            When media planners or sales reps configure a media proposal or a media plan, the configurations are saved across multiple records in Salesforce. When a media plan is converted to an order, a set of records are created to save the ad sales specific configurations of the order. Admins can add related lists to object page layouts to enable media planners, sales reps, and ad operations specialists to navigate across records easily.
          • Media Proposal and Plan Customizations with Ad Availability View Configuration
            The Media Plan and Proposal Configuration setting adds a list of Ad Availability View Configuration records in Salesforce. Ad Availability View Configuration records drive the configuration of the different pages, components, tabs, modals, and buttons that media planners and sales reps interact with when configuring media plans and media proposals. Admins can edit the records to decide what media planners and sales reps can interact with. Or, admins can create records based on what they want media planners and sales reps to view or engage with based on the company's requirements.
          • Media Plan Customizations with Decision Tables
            Advertising Sales Management provides a reference implementation for how admins can use decision tables to control two aspects of the ad placements in media plans that media planners and sales reps are working on and ad operations specialists have created for amended orders. First, decision tables decide which quick actions are available for ad placements on the Ad Placement table in media plans and which tabs are available on the Line Item Configuration panel that are available for ad placements. Second, decision tables decide the settings of the Line Item tab on the Line Item Configuration panel for ad placements in media plans. The controls of what to display are completely dependent on the media plan's configuration and ad placement's inherited product configuration such as product family, product type, and whether products are configurable during sale.
          • Media Plan Customizations with Salesforce Flows
            Admins can configure flows to design tasks that are unique to the company's workflow for managing additions and changes to media plans. Admins can configure flows for two scenarios: to execute processes before additions or changes to media plans are saved and to execute processes before additions or changes to media plans are saved. For example, admins can create a flow that ensures that the discounts offered on an ad placement aren't beyond the preapproved threshholds. Also, admins can create a flow that informs the media planners or sales reps about the possible next steps after their changes are saved.
          • Media Plan Customizations with Lightning Message Service
            Lightning Message Service is a Lightning Web Component (LWC) that Advertising Sales Management uses to enable company's to implement business processes that are unique to their ad sales business process. The message channels provided with Advertising Sales Management enable admins to configure processes related to managing values for dependent fields on the Line Item Configuration tab, to execute actions for ad placements in a media plan, and to refresh media plans.
          • Media Plan Customizations with Lightning App Builder
            Admins can decide which columns are displayed on the Ad Placement table in media plans. Admins can remove one or more default columns that display information which isn't relevant to media planners or sales reps of the company. Or, the admin can add columns to display information that's unique to the company.
          • Examples of Customized Pricing for Ad Placements
            Publishers can offer discounts on ad placements to advertisers and agencies based different ad placement attributes such as ad spaces, creative sizes, and segment values. To ensure that when media planners or sales reps add an ad placement to a media plan, the price of the ad placement is calculated considering the applicable discounts, admin must create decision tables to decide the discount rules and ensure that the pricing procedure for the ad sales business runs the decision tables while deciding the price of ad placement. Advertising Sales Management supports the CPM and CPC pricing models by default but admins can configure pricing models such as CPA.
          • Example of Setting Up Advertising Sales Management for Non-Digital Advertisment Campaigns
            Advertising Sales Management is designed to support advertisement campaigns across digital, print, and radio. Configure picklist values that enable Advertising Sales Management to support print and radio advertisement campaigns.
