Advertising Sales Management supports the following deal types:
- Direct Sales
- Direct sales are ad transaction completed on a one-to-one basis, according to negotiations made between advertisers and publishers.
- Programmatic Guaranteed
- Programmatic guaranteed deals are deals where the advertiser agrees to purchase a certain portion of the publisher's ad inventory for a fixed price.
- Preferred (non guaranteed)
- Preferred deals enable publishers to grant certain advertisers priority access to ad impressions generated by their digital media inventory.
Media Plans created in Winter '24 and later require you to specify a Deal Type in the Opportunity record. Use the DealType field to specify whether a deal is for Direct Sales, Programmatic, or Preferred deals. Once this value has been set, it cannot be changed. If no selection is made, the Opportunity is automatically marked as Direct-Sales.
Media Plans created before Winter '24 are automatically marked as Direct-Sales, when you click Configure Media Plan.

With Advertising Sales Management, you can:

-

- For the Service Home page, navigate to the quote page for the order that you want to modify.
- Click Modify Media Plan. The original quote is cloned to create a new quote.
- From the new quote record page, click Configure Media Plan.
-
Enter the Start date and end dat for the media plan, and then click Next.
After you've begun the process to modify a media plan, if the start date is in the past, then the Start Date is no longer editable. You can, however, edit the End Date of the plan. If the start date and the end date are, both, in the future, then you can edit either or both of the dates, as the case may be. If the Start Date and End Date are both in the past, then the media plan cannot be modified.Note The dates entered at the media plan level are not reflected in Google Ad Manager. To modify the dates, make the changes at the placement level.
-
Use the edit icon to modify the Quantity, Pricing Model, Ad Space, Ad Space Size, and Priority fields for a particular media placement.
Note Changing the Priority Type automatically updates the Goal Setting values in Advertising Sales Management. You can also manually update the Goal Setting values from the Configure option in the quick action menu for the media placement. This change in the Goal Setting values is also reflected in Google Ad Manager after the Modify Plan workflow is complete.
-
From the quick action menu for each placement, click Check Availability to ensure that the required quantity is available on the ad server.
Note If you are unable to use the quick action menu to perform the Check Availability action, click Save and Exit, then click Configure Media Plan, and try to perform the Check Availability action again.
- If required, you can add more placements to the media plan. See Create and Submit a Media Plan for Approval.
- If you have added new placements to the media plan, the media plan remains in Inactive state on your external ad server. You must add the corresponding creatives to the line items in your external ad server before the media plan can be activated.
The existing media plan is updated to include the new media placements and modified existing placements.
