Modify a Media Plan Using Advertising Sales Management
In Advertising Sales Management, you can modify a media plan that is currently running on the ad server by either updating an existing media placement or adding a new media placement.
This is an Advertising Sales Management on Managed Package feature. For Advertising Sales
Management on Salesforce Platform, see Advertising
Sales Management on Salesforce Platform.
You cannot modify the Ad Space Product type on an existing placement in the media plan, or delete existing media placements from a media plan.
To modify a media plan using Advertising Sales Management:
- From the Service Home page, navigate to the quote page for the order that you want to modify.
- Click Modify Media Plan. The original quote is cloned to create a new quote.
- From the new quote record page, click Configure Media Plan.
-
Enter the Start date and end date for the media plan, and then click Next.
If the start date of the plan is in the past, then the Start Date is no longer editable. You can, however, edit the End Date of the plan. If the start date and the end date are both in the future, then you can edit either or both of the dates. If the Start Date and End Date are both in the past, then the media plan cannot be modified.
NoteThe dates entered at the media plan level are not reflected in Google Ad Manager. To modify the dates, make the changes at the placement level.
-
Use the edit icon to modify the Quantity, Pricing Model, Ad Space, Ad Space Size, and Priority fields for a particular media placement.
Note
Changing the Priority Type automatically updates the Goal Setting values in Advertising Sales Management. You can also manually update the Goal Setting values from the Configure option in the quick action menu for the media placement. This change in the Goal Setting values is also reflected in Google Ad Manager after the Modify Plan workflow is complete.
-
From the quick action menu for each placement, click Check Availability to ensure that the required quantity is available on the ad server.
Note
If you are unable to use the quick action menu to perform the Check Availability action, click Save and Exit, then click Configure Media Plan, and try to perform the Check Availability action again.
- If required, you can add more placements to the media plan. See Create and Submit a Media Plan for Approval.
- Click Next.
- In the View Summary page, review the information, and then click Submit for Approval.
- Create and submit an order.
- If you have added new placements to the media plan, the media plan remains in Inactive state on Google Ad Manager. You must add the corresponding creatives to the line items in Google Ad Manager before the media plan can be activated. See Add Creatives to Line Items in Google Ad Manager.
