          Mega Events

          Mega events define important public events or holidays and are either country-specific or region-specific. The most important characteristics of a mega event are the theme (for example, Easter and Super Bowl), assigned timeframe, and objective. Mega-events are important for the promotion planning process. The marketing management team defines mega events for the planning period.

          Mega events are not run but are used as reference points for other promotions. Typically, they don't have further business objects such as products or tactics assigned to them. In Trade Promotion Management, mega events are created as promotions that aren't anchored to any customer or customer set.
