Sample Management includes an AI-driven document reader that uses prompt-based
extraction to convert unstructured customer requirement documents into structured Product
Requirement Specification (PRS) data. Generative AI-enabled fields powered by prompt templates
can help users complete their work faster. With a click of a button, users can quickly populate
the data from the uploaded document.
Required Editions

Available in: Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer
Editions
This capability enables sales and technical teams to upload requirement documents
(PDF) and automatically extract key technical specifications into structured Salesforce
fields, eliminating manual data entry and reducing errors.
Note For each request, you can upload only one file. The file must be in PDF format and cannot
exceed 15 MB.
Ensure that Manufacturing Generative AI is enabled and the
user has the permissions ExecutePromptTemplate and ManagePromptTemplate.
The user uploads a requirement document while creating a Product Requirement
Specification (PRS).
Click Get Requirement Specifications.
The system invokes a predefined prompt template (Product Requirement Specification Data
Extraction) available in the org.
The prompt instructs Einstein to read the uploaded document, identify requirement
categories (such as Functional, Packaging, Compliance), and extract structured values
mapped to PRS fields.
The extracted values are automatically populated into the corresponding dynamic
requirement screens.
If Generative AI is not enabled, users can manually enter specifications.
Note The data extraction uses a default out-of-the-box prompt template
available in the org. Admins can view and manage this prompt by navigating to Prompt Builder
in Setup, searching for the Product Requirement Specification Data
Extraction default template, and opening it to view the specific
details.
The default prompt is designed specifically for manufacturing requirement documents, maps
extracted content to structured PRS categories, and works dynamically based on the Category
values configured by the admin.
