Create a Unit of Measure Conversion for a Custom Fuel Type
To calculate emissions for a custom fuel type, create a unit of measure conversion.

- From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Net Zero, and then select Sustainability Unit of Measure Conversion.
- Click New Sustainability Unit of Measure Conversion.

Enter a developer name for the unit of measure conversion.
It must:
- Contain alphanumeric characters (underscore is allowed)
- Be unique
- Begin with a letter
- Not contain consecutive underscores, spaces, or end with an underscore
- Select the fuel type.
- Select the source unit of measure that’s mapped to the fuel type.

Select the target unit of measure to convert to.
- For a stationary asset, the standard unit of measure is kWh or GJ.
- For a vehicle asset, the standard unit of measure is liters or US gallons.
- For waste, the standard unit of measure is tonnes.
- Enter the conversion factor to convert values from one unit of measure to another.
- Save your changes.
To use the new fuel type and unit of measure, associate it with an emissions factor set item. See Create an Other Emissions Factor Set Item Record.
