          Scope 3 Carbon Footprints

          Scope 3 Carbon Footprints

For easy reporting, create a carbon footprint for each fiscal year. If you want to separate emissions by attributes, such as region, or country, create multiple carbon footprint records for the same year. You can also roll multiple procurement summaries into a single carbon footprint record.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions
          Permission Set Needed
          To enter and modify data:

          Net Zero Cloud Manager

          OR

          Net Zero Cloud Admin

When creating a carbon footprint record, set the Name, Footprint Stage, Reporting Year, Start Date, and End Date.

          Recalculate Out-of-Sync Carbon Footprint

You can recalculate carbon footprint records that are out of sync with underlying data due to manual overrides if the record isn’t locked.

Recalculating a carbon footprint record recalculates related scope 3 procurement summaries and energy use records if the child records aren’t locked.

          Note
Note Only the user who created the record or who has Modify All Records access to the record can view or modify the record, including to recalculate the record. To enable a user to view or modify records created by other users, your Salesforce administrator must enable the Modify All Records access for the user on the required objects. For more information about setting permissions, see Troubleshoot Object and Record Access Issues.

To recalculate, from the actions menu on the Carbon Footprint page, select Recalculate. The process runs asynchronously.

          Note
Note Users who don’t have the Modify All Records access to the required objects can’t see the Recalculate action.

          Lock a Carbon Footprint

To ensure that records aren’t updated accidentally or by automated processes, lock carbon footprint records.

          Important
Important Only the user who created the record or who has Modify All Records access to the record can view or modify the record, including to lock or unlock the record. To enable a user to view or modify records created by other users, your Salesforce administrator must enable the Modify All Records access for the user on the required objects. For more information about setting permissions, see Troubleshoot Object and Record Access Issues.

To lock or unlock a carbon footprint record, from the actions menu on the Carbon Footprint page, select Lock. Locking a carbon footprint record also locks any related scope 3 procurement summary and scope 3 procurement item records.

          Note
Note Users who don’t have the Modify All Records access to the required objects can’t see the Lock action in the actions menu.
