          Calculate Stationary Asset Carbon Footprints

          Calculate Stationary Asset Carbon Footprints

Calculate stationary asset carbon footprints based on the energy consumption data and emissions for an asset source.

Here's an image that shows the high-level steps to perform stationary asset carbon accounting.

Data flows to manage stationary asset carbon footprint

          1. Load reference data or create emissions factor records for Electricity Emissions Factors, Refrigerant Emissions Factors, and Other Emissions Factors.
          2. Create electricity lifecycle emission factor set records to calculate greenhouse gas emissions throughout the lifecycle of electricity. For more information, see Create an Electricity Lifecycle Emission Factor Set Record.
          3. Create other lifecycle emission factor set records to calculate emissions throughout the fuel lifecycle, from extraction to end-of-life. For more information, see Create an Other Lifecycle Emission Factor Set Record and Create an Other Lifecycle Emission Factor Set Item Record.
          4. Create Stationary Asset Environmental Source records for stationary assets, such as office buildings, data centers, or warehouses that generate carbon emissions.
          5. Create Stationary Asset energy use records that capture the energy consumption data for an asset source and emissions from the source for a specific date or date range.
          6. Based on automation preferences the carbon footprint records are automatically generated or you can create the footprint records related to the emissions based on the energy use records.
          7. Automatically generate stationary asset carbon footprint item records, which contain carbon footprints for individual fuel types.

The table lists the objects that the building blocks for stationary carbon accounting map out connections with.

Mapping Emissions Sources, Energy Uses, Emissions Factors, and Carbon Footprints
Emissions Source Energy Use Type Applicable Emissions Factors Carbon Footprint Type
Stationary Asset Environmental Source Stationary Asset Energy Use
          • Other Emissions Factors
          • Electricity Emissions Factors
          • Refrigerant Emissions Factors
          • Electricity Lifecycle Emission Factor Set
          • Other Lifecycle Emission Factor Set
          • Other Lifecycle Emission Factor Set Item

          Stationary Asset Carbon Footprint:

          • Stationary Asset Carbon Footprint Item (for Electricity)
          • Stationary Asset Carbon Footprint Item (for Diesel)
