Set Up Your Org to Gather Social and Governance Data from Subsidiaries
The parent company consolidates social and governance (S&G) data within its organizational structure, and Net Zero Cloud uses the consolidated data to generate disclosure reports.
To gather social and governance data for your entire organization, including subsidiary companies, complete these high-level steps.
- Create accounts for your company and for all your subsidiaries and business units. See Create Accounts for the Extended Organization.
- Create an internal organizational unit that identifies your parent account. See Create an Internal Organizational Unit to Identify the Parent Company.
- Define the company hierarchy or structure by setting up account relationships.
- To represent a relationship between the parent company and all accounts in the org, see Create a Party-Role Relationship for the Parent Company.
- To represent the relationship between the parent company and all accounts, see Create an Account Hierarchy.
- Relate the social and governance records to the subsidiary accounts. Here’s how Net Zero
Cloud classifies the data:
- Subsidiary company data: No disclosure reporting periods relate to an account, and the other child-level social and governance object records related to the reporting period also relate to a subsidiary account.
- Parent company data: No disclosure period record or other child-level social and governance object records related to the reporting period relate to any account.
