Organize Your Products with Catalogs and Categories
A catalog is a collection of the products that you sell, organized into categories for
easier browsing. You must create a catalog before you create catalog categories and assign
products to the categories.
Example Imagine a catalog called Furniture. This catalog can have several categories such as
Outdoor Furniture, Dining, Wardrobes, Sofas, Beds, and Tables. You can then create a
subcategories for the catalog categories. For example, the Beds category can have
subcategories such as Beds with Storage, Single Beds,Double Beds, and so on.
To get started with product catagories, refer to these instructions:
Create a Catalog Define your product offerings in Product Catalog Management with product catalogs. Catalogs enable efficient organization and management of all the products your business sells. You must create at least one product catalog.
Create Catalog Categories and Subcategories Organize and group products in your catalog by creating catalog categories and catalog subcategories. Assign products to more than one catalog category and subcategory.
Sort Categories in a Catalog Make the browsing experience consistent and predictable for your buyers by defining category display order in Product Catalog Management (PCM) at design time. The same order appears in Product Discovery (PD) at runtime.
Assign Products to Catalog Categories in Revenue Cloud Organize products by assigning them to catalog categories and subcategories. You must create your product records first before assigning products to catalogs or categories.
Set a Default Product Catalog Set a default catalog for your product list page to show the most relevant products for your users. For complex orders, configure your product list page in Lightning App Builder or flows to help users to easily switch catalogs.
