Set Up Product Configurator

Product Configurator provides a framework to define and apply rules and constraints when configuring products. It features two rules engines: Constraint Rules Engine and Business Rules Engine.

• Use Product Configurator with Constraint Rules Engine for large and complex product configuration rules and constraints.
• Use Product Configurator with Business Rules Engine for simple product configuration rules.

Note

Constraint Rules Engine services aren’t available in Government Cloud or in orgs within the EU Operating Zone (OZ). For more information, contact your Salesforce account executive.

• Set Up Constraint Rules Engine for Product Configurator
  Before you define product configuration rules and constraints by using Constraint Rules Engine, set up Constraint Rules Engine for Product Configurator.
• Set Up Business Rules Engine for Product Configurator
  Before you define product configuration rules by using Business Rules Engine, set up Business Rules Engine for Product Configurator.
• Define Rules Engine with Transaction Processing Types
  Create Transaction Processing Type records to define the rules engine that you want to use to process configuration rules. Then, specify the default transaction processing type on the Revenue Settings page.
