          Create Programs

To represent an initiative offered by your agency or organization, create a program. For example, create programs for school fundraisers or for housing assistance, job training services, tutoring and mentoring, refugee settlement, or to provide child welfare support.

          1. In the Program Management app, from the app navigation menu, select Programs.
          2. Click New.
          3. Enter a name for the program.
          4. Select Active as the status.
          5. Select the start date.
          6. If needed, enter an end date, summary, or additional context.
          7. Save your changes.

Create Benefit Types and Units of Measure

Create the benefit types that you want to use with your benefits. Use benefit types and units of measure in reports that quantify how you deliver benefits across programs. For example, consider an organization that provides meals across early childhood, food insecurity, and physical health programs. Create a benefit type for Distribution and a unit of measure named Meal to report on the number of meals that you provide across these programs. If the organization distributes other items, such as hygiene kits or school supplies, they can use the same Distribution benefit type with the benefits that have different units, such as kits or backpacks.

          1. From the App Launcher, find and select Units of Measure.
          2. Click New.
          3. Enter a name for the unit of measure.
Common units of measure are hours, percentage, or number of people.
          4. In Unit Code, enter an abbreviation for the unit of measure.
          5. If needed, enter a description or select a type.
          6. Save your work and create other units of measure as needed for your programs.
          7. From the Program Management app navigation menu, select Benefit Types.
          8. Click New.
          9. Enter a name for the benefit type.
          10. Select Program Management as the process type.
          11. Select a type and a unit of measure.
          12. If needed, enter a description.
          13. Save your changes.

          Create Benefits

To represent the activities or services that the program offers, add benefits to a program. The benefits related to a job training program, for example, a group resume writing workshop and a one-on-one interviewing skills session.

          1. From the Program Management app navigation menu, select Benefits.
          2. Click New.
          3. Enter a name for the benefit.
          4. Search for and select a benefit type.
          5. Select Active.
            Important
Important Benefits must be active to relate them to benefit assignments, participants, and goals. They must also be active to be available to be used with care plans that aren't created from a template.
          6. Search for and select a program, or create and select one.
          7. Enter an enrollment count.
          8. If needed, specify other details for the benefit, such as the date range, minimum and maximum benefit amounts, and a related goal definition.
          9. Save your changes.
