          User Permissions Needed
To grant compliant data sharing access to internal users: Configure Compliant Data Sharing
To add or update participants, assign participant roles, and manage participant status: Use Compliant Data Sharing

Use compliant data sharing to extend access to specific records that would otherwise be private, without the need for complex code. For internal users, define participant roles for each parent entity, and configure the level of default access that each participant should have. Provide Experience Cloud users with the ability to collaborate on certain records. Assign or remove access for specific participant groups and roles as needed, and track participant access for compliance.

For example, give grantmakers access to manage budget, funding award, and individual application records, and share these records with other internal participants based on their role. To streamline application completion, give grantseekers the ability to add participants to a grant application so they can update details of the application, such as the requested amount.

You can use compliant data sharing to manage access to records of these objects in Public Sector:

          • Account
          • Application Form
          • Application Form Evaluation
          • Budget
          • Case Proceeding
          • Custom object
          • Funding Award
          • Funding Opportunity
          • Individual Application
          • Interaction
          • Interaction Summary
          • Opportunity
          • Public Complaint
          • Recruitment Requisition

When you enable Compliant Data Sharing for the Case Proceeding and Public Complaint objects, the Case Proceeding Participant and Complaint Participant objects can store two types of records.

          • Records that reference an account or contact to associate a party with a case proceeding or public complaint.
          • Records that reference a user or group to share a case proceeding or public complaint with them in a compliant manner.

For the Case Proceeding Participant and Complaint Participant objects, create record types and page layouts for the party-association and data-sharing scenarios. Then, give users access to the record types and page layouts that they need for their workflows.
