          Create a Product Category

          Create a Product Category

          Group products into product categories based on physical attributes or specific purposes. A product category groups products at the highest level of the product hierarchy and dictates the visibility of products in an account plan and in advanced promotions. A Key Account Manager can create promotions and assortments by product categories.

          Required Editions

          Create a product catalog before you create a product category.

          Available in: Lightning Experience in Professional, Unlimited, and Enterprise Editions that have Consumer Goods Cloud enabled
          User Permissions Needed
          To create a product category:

          CGCloud Sales User

          OR

          CGCloud Retail Sales User AND CGCloud Retail User

          1. From the App Launcher, find and select Categories, and then click New.
          2. Enter a name and description.
          3. Select a catalog.
          4. To show the product category on a menu, select Show In Menu.
          5. Enter a sort order.
          6. Select a parent category.
          7. Save your changes.
