          Phase 3: Build Readiness

          Phase 3: Build Readiness

Phase 3 prepares your company before execution begins. The goal of this phase isn’t to start the migration, but to make sure that the migration starts successfully.

          Provision Your Sandbox Org

Use a full-copy sandbox, which has a subset of data representing various scenarios, for migration testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Set up a sandbox before any configuration work begins. Migration tooling results from a non-representative sandbox aren’t reliable indicators of how the migration behaves in production.

          Confirm Your Org Strategy

Based on the decisions from phase 2 and your broader Salesforce platform strategy, confirm whether Revenue Management will be deployed in an existing Salesforce org or a new org. Set up the appropriate sandbox based on that decision. See Operational Planning Considerations for Migration for detailed guidance.

          Establish Governance and Communication

Put the project governance structure in place before execution begins rather than assembling it after issues arise. At a minimum, set up these stakeholders and plans.

          • A steering committee that includes the executive sponsor and functional leads, and meets regularly to review progress and resolve escalations.
          • A working group of core team members that meets frequently during active execution phases.
          • A communication plan that covers go-live date communication, data freeze windows, system access changes, and training schedules for affected teams. Unexpected changes during a cutover window create unnecessary pressure on all teams involved.
          • A named business-side liaison for each major stakeholder group, including sales, finance, and legal, who can represent their team's needs and share project updates.
          • Engage end-users early and establish check-in cadences to get their feedback. This engagement guarantees a successful adoption in the future.
          • A working group of core team members that review and approve the migrated data.

          Phase 3 Checklist

Before you begin execution, confirm that you’ve completed these tasks.

          • A full-copy sandbox is provisioned and confirmed to reflect various scenarios.
          • The Salesforce org strategy is confirmed and the sandbox is set up accordingly.
          • Steering committee and working group meeting cadences are scheduled.
          • A communication plan is drafted and key stakeholders have been briefed.
          • Data quality remediation from phase 1 is sufficiently completed to support migration testing.
