          Set Up Salesforce Document Generation

          Set Up Salesforce Document Generation

Turn on the server-side setting to enable asynchronous document generation, which supports large or batch-generated documents. Also, turn on the Design Document Templates in Salesforce setting to create DOCX, PPT, and Microsoft 365 Word templates with dynamic tokens. When this setting is turned on, Salesforce automatically creates the Docgen Document Template Library if it doesn't already exist. Finally, provide access for users by assigning the Document Generation permission set.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Professional, Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Editions
          Note
Note To use Microsoft 365 Word, you must have the Microsoft Word 365 PSL, which is bundled with the Salesforce Contracts license.
          • Enable Server-Side Document Generation Setting for the Omnistudio Package and Core
Server-Side document generation is an asynchronous process that's built for large and rendering-heavy documents and to generate documents in batches. Server-Side document generation is only supported in customer orgs, and it isn't enabled by default.
          • Assign Document Generation Permission Set to your Users
Grant users the required access to design templates and generate documents with Salesforce Document Generation, enabling them to complete document-related tasks efficiently
          • Set Up Digital Experience Users for Salesforce Document Generation
Give Customer Community (CC), Customer Community Plus (CCplus), and Partner Community users access to create documents from their Digital Experience sites. Salesforce Document Generation doesn't support Guest Users.
          • Manage Custom Fonts
Align your documents with your organization’s branding by using custom fonts to maintain a consistent appearance across your generated documents. Upload, organize, and sync fonts in the custom font library across Hyperforce servers to make sure they’re available during document generation.
          • Render Seamless Multi-Language Fonts in Generated PDFs
Correct rendering issues for complex scripts in generated PDFs by enabling advanced text shaping for specific document processes. Use the text shaper flag when you have documents containing non-English text that requires advanced text shaping settings , avoiding unnecessary performance degradation for documents which contain standard English text.
          • Manage Browser-Based Previewer
Configure and use Salesforce’s browser-based file previewer to efficiently view files such as PDFs, DOCX, and PPTs directly within your browser. Seamlessly review contract documents, extracted data, and OmniScript outputs without the need for additional tools.
