          Create a Connected App

          Create a connected app to request access to Salesforce Files data for Einstein Relationship Insights.

          Important
          Important Connected apps creation is restricted as of Spring ‘26. You can continue to use existing connected apps during and after Spring ‘26. However, we recommend using external client apps instead. If you must continue creating connected apps, contact Salesforce Support.

          1. From Setup, enter External Client Apps in the Quick Find box, then select Settings in the External Client App section.
          2. Click New Connected App, and then enter these values.
            Field Value
            Connected App Name Name for the connected app. For example, ERI Salesforce Files.
            API Name Keep the default API name, ERI_Salesforce_Files.
            Contact Email Email address to set up the integration. For example, your email address or a group email address.
            Description Description for the connected app: Manage authentication to integrate Salesforce Files with Einstein Relationship Insights.
          3. Under API (Enable OAuth Settings), select Enable OAuth Settings.
          4. In the Call Back URL field, enter https://force.com.
          5. Select Use digital signatures, and then upload the server certificate.
          6. Under Selected OAuth Scopes, move Manage user data via APIs (api) and Perform requests at any time (refresh_token, offline_access) to the Selected OAuth Scopes list.
          7. Save the connected app.
          8. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter App, and then select App Manager.
          9. Next to the connected app that you created, click dropdown icon, and then select Manage.
          10. Click Edit Policies.
          11. Under OAuth Policies, for Permitted Users, select Admin approved users are Pre-authorized.
          12. Save your changes.
