            View Events Using Timeline in Salesforce

            The Timeline component shows key events relating to a person or a resource in one place, so your users can see information from a single source of truth.

            • How Timeline Works in Salesforce
              A timeline lets users see data from objects as a sequence of events happening over time. You determine what information shows on the timeline by choosing the base (or primary) object and the related objects. You can use standard objects or custom objects.
            • Set Up a Timeline in Salesforce
              Configure interactive timelines that provide access to information about users.
            • Enable Data Cloud Engagement Events
              To show Data Cloud engagement events on the timeline, specify Data Cloud as a data source in Setup.
            • Enable Summary
              To view a summary of records on Timeline, turn on the Summary preference in Setup.

              Configure interactive timelines that show engagement events from a Data Cloud data model object (DMO).

              Configure interactive timelines that show engagement events from a Data Cloud data graph. With a data graph, the timeline can load events faster from data model objects (DMOs), including the Unified Individual DMO. Users, for example contact center agents (CCAs), can go through the consolidated events shown on the timeline to gain comprehensive customer insights and provide better customer support.

              To let your Salesforce users see the Timeline and its data, add it to a Lightning record page.
            • Add Timeline to Your Experience Cloud Site
              To let people use Timeline without logging in to Salesforce, add it to your Experience Cloud site.
            • View Data Cloud Events
              View engagement Data Cloud events on the timeline to enhance information retrieval, get the historical context, and have contextual and concise communication with customers and prospects.
            • Timeline Considerations and Limitations
              Limitations are boundaries beyond which features are unavailable, performance is throttled, or usage billing charges are applied. Work with your account executive to find a solution that meets your goals.
