          Calendars

Business years define the annual time frame for your sales organization. You can align your business year with the Gregorian calendar, or have business years range from 360 to 380 days and begin on any chosen day of the month.

In addition to the business year, you can create custom calendars for a more tailored calendar setup, such as the 4-4-5 calendar. Segment your custom calendar into custom weeks, months, or quarters, where each custom period differs. For example, in the 4-4-5 calendar setup, divide the year into quarters, each comprising two 4-week months and one 5-week month. This calendar setup facilitates more consistent week-to-week and month-to-month financial comparisons across quarters.

          Note
Note If your business year start and end dates don't align with the Gregorian calendar year (January 1 to December 31), set up a custom calendar with custom periods. A custom calendar maintains Customer Business Plan (CBP) and Real-Time Reporting (RTR) data accuracy. You can also define labels for all periods.
          • Create a Business Year
Business years define the annual time level in your sales organization. Creating and activating business years in your sales organization is essential for using features such as customer business plans (CBP) and real-time reporting (RTR) in Consumer Goods Cloud.
          • Create a Custom Calendar
For better accuracy and consistency in financial reporting and analysis, create custom calendars with tailored weeks, months, or quarters.
          • Extend a Custom Calendar
To use a custom calendar beyond the dates added during calendar creation, extend the calendar. Create the custom periods before extending the calendar.
