Claim Calculations
Trade Promotion Management considers three main aspects during claim-tactic calculations: the relevant period, the products that are valid during the relevant period, and manual input validation.

Claim calculation is triggered when these conditions are met:
- Claims or claim tactics are updated.
- KPI values are manually edited.
- External claims are imported by using Data Loader.
You must configure these settings for claim calculation.
- Enable claim overwrite for the sales organization.
- Configure the product level at which the KPI values of a claim tactic are saved. Configure the product level from the claim template by using the Claim Tactic Product Level setting.
Claims aren't calculated automatically for batch processes. When you run batch processes, make sure that the batch process triggers claim calculations. To avoid errors in calculations when you run batch processes, perform these actions:
- Delete manual inputs on the batch process when a claim tactic is deleted.
- Insert manual inputs into the batch process when a claim tactic is added.
- Update the claim calculation on the batch and set existing manual inputs as obsolete when manual inputs are added or updated on the batch process.
The system considers the period of the relevant promotion to determine valid products during claim-tactics calculation.
During claim-tactic calculations, the system considers only the products that are related to the selected tactic.
After the system determines the relevant time frame and valid products, it validates the manual inputs. When the system sends claims for calculation, here’s how the claims are handled.
- A claim-tactic with the Adjusted or Canceled status is considered canceled.
- A claim-tactic with the Reversal adjustment type is considered canceled.
- A claim-tactic with the To be closed status is considered closed.
