You can also relate document checklist items to action plan templates, and generate similar checklist items when action plans are created from those templates.
For example, to create a document checklist item for an opportunity:
- Open the opportunity that you want to create a document checklist item for.
- Under Related, click the dropdown list to the right of Document Checklist Items, and select New.
- Enter a name for the required document.
- If your company uses document types, select the appropriate document type.
- (Optional) Under File Pertains To, specify the contact or user that the associated file relates to.
-
To create another document checklist item, click Save & New, or
to finish, click Save.
Note- If the opportunity was associated with an account or a residential loan application, then the document checklist item is automatically associated to those records as well. If an opportunity’s account or residential loan application are updated, the associations between them and the document checklist item don’t update automatically. If an account is deleted, the document checklist item associated to the account remains visible and points to the deleted parent account.
- DocumentChecklistItem object cannot be shared directly as its sharing is derived from its associated parent object. So, DocumentChecklistItem cannot be the master object in a master-detail relationship.
- Due to an technical limitation during 2GP package creation, the user validating the package does not have the necessary user license and permission set to create DocumentChecklistItem records. This may cause the package validation to fail.
Note If document checklist items in your instance exceed 100,000 unique parent objects,
Lightning pages can fail to show all document checklist items. To reduce the list count, filter
the items. Don’t use or pin the All Document Checklist Items list view. See Improve List View Performance.
