Customizing a Contract Document
Customize a contract by changing the contract document. You can start a contract with a document template, but you usually need to edit, or customize, the specific contract. You check out a contract to customize it, ensuring that versions are managed properly. When you check out a contract document, sections that appear in gray are restricted. You cannot change them. When you are finished customizing a contract document, you save it and check it in.
Customizing is also known as editing or redlining.
You can download a PDF or Microsoft Word file. The contract document view is read-write. Vlocity CLM locks the contract document version when the procedure begins, and unlocks it when it ends.
To customize a contract:
- On the Contract record detail page, expand the Contract Documents Visualforce page.
-
Click Check Out to Customize.
You receive a message indicating that Vlocity CLM will create a new version of the contract document.
- Click Continue.
- Click the section to edit.
- Edit the section by typing or using the editor tools.
- Click Check In to check in the document.
- Continuing to Customize a Contract Document
If you started to customize a contract, but were interrupted and could not check in the document, you can continue the customization. - Checking In a Contract Document
If you checked out a contract document, you can check it in.
