You are here:
Embedding Fonts in a Microsoft Word or PowerPoint Document
When you generate PDF documents using the Vlocity Client-Converter as your setting, you must embed fonts in Microsoft Word or PowerPoint. When you embed fonts, the document saves those fonts and the user will see those fonts regardless of whether the fonts are installed on their own computer.
If you don't embed the fonts, the Vlocity Client-Converter must substitute fonts if the user doesn't have those fonts installed and the substitutions may be different than your intended output (especially with symbol fonts.)
For details on how to embed fonts, see the Microsoft article "Embed fonts in Word or PowerPoint."
For more details about using the Vlocity Client-Converter setting, see Understanding PDF Conversion in CLM.
Even if you embed fonts, Microsoft may not embed fonts due to certain licensing rights. In such cases Vlocity will replace them with standard substitute fonts in the generated PDF.
