Industries Communications Data Model
The Industries Communications data model is a comprehensive data model covering everything needed for a cloud BSS system across all communication markets (B2B, B2C, B2B2C) and all product lines (mobile, broadband, TV, fixed-line services, and other subscription services).
The data model covers concepts including product catalog management with pricing and promotions, selling with opportunities, quotes and orders, contract lifecycle management, and much more. The Communications data model is a 100% additive extension of the standard Salesforce data model that leverages all of the relevant Salesforce objects. The data model is TM Forum Information Framework (SID)-compliant. Each ERD in this section illustrates the important entities and relationships and the Industries extension to the Salesforce object model. Salesforce provides industry-specific data models, built on top of the Salesforce object model, for each of the industries served by Salesforce. The logical entity relationship diagrams (ERDs) provided in this section illustrate the important entities and relationships for a given topic. The ERDs illustrate how Salesforce extends the standard Salesforce object model to tailor it to the needs of each industry.

Any entity with which a customer does business is considered a party. All parties have a record in the Party__c object. Party relationships are useful for alternate relationships, such as contact-to-contact, account-to-account that are not partners, family relationships, and other relationships that do not fit the standard Salesforce relationship paradigm. The party model is proprietary intellectual property.
