Mapping Granular Data Center Data
If you uploaded a file or used a technical vendor to create a Granular Data Center data stream, you’re redirected to a mapping preview screen. Here you can verify that your data has been identified correctly, change mapping, add mapping formulas, and more. When data is uploaded to a Granular Data Center data stream, a table is created. The table is dynamic according to the type of loaded data. The type affects the data load options and behavior.
There are two types of data: dimension only and dimensions and measurements data.
In the mapping preview stage, if you exceed a certain number of columns, you must scroll to see all rows. Granular data includes many rows and requires much scrolling. The Transpose button allows you to transpose your columns so that they all become separate rows under one column. When you’re in transpose mode you can’t see the actual data relating to these columns, only the column headers and their formulas. You can still click the formula icon to edit the formula of a given header.
- Configure the Granular Data Center Table
A Granular Data Center data stream creates a table automatically. The Granular Data Center table is created within the database and holds the data uploaded by the respective data stream. When querying the Granular Data Center using SQL, the tables are queried and visualized by the names defined in the table. In the mapping screen, you can configure the table’s settings via the Configure tab. - Apply a Header Transformer to a Granular Data Center Table
A header transformer customizes the header structure when headers aren’t available. If you leave the table as is, the first row values appear as the column headers. - Add a Field
When you add more dimensions and measurements to the table, you add more columns. All column names appear as display names in the table. The display names are also used to set the system names, which are formatted using SQL standards.
