          Adthena API Connector

          Adthena provides search competitive data.

          • Data Stream Types: Unmapped
          • Data Lag: 2 Days

          General Setup

Select the dates for which you wish to process the Data, under Initial Data Fetch.

          Extended Properties

          • Data Stream Type - Select the Data Stream Type for the Data you wish to retrieve.
          • Reports Type - Select one of the available Report Types: Market Share, Market Trends, Top Ads, Google Shopping (or Top PLAs, which is called ‘Google Shopping’ on the Adthena UI (Product Listing Ads - Google Shopping in the Adthena UI).
          • Results Filter - Whole Market filters the report by general market terms, My Terms filters the report according to your search terms.
          • Device Breakdown - Select By Devices or Totals. By Devices means that Marketing Cloud Intelligence adds a device breakdown via the Device Dimension. Totals returns the totals without the device breakdown.
          Note
          Note
          • The Top Ads and Google ShoppingTop PLA Reports always includes Device Breakdown, regardless of the setting you apply here.
          • Marketing Cloud Intelligence allows you to retrieve all the available Measurements at once.

          Additional Details

          • Adthena has four different types of Reports:
            • Market Share
            • Market Trends
            • Top Ads
            • Top PLAs (Product Listing Ads) - Google Shopping in Adthena UI
          • For the Market Share and Market Trend reports, Marketing Cloud Intelligence pulls the actual percentage Measurements.
            • It’s recommended to change the Measurement format to percentage for ease of analysis.
            • With Percentage Measurements it’s also recommended to consume the Data at the granularity with which it was pulled as viewing it at any other granularity could result in discrepancies.

          Advanced Settings

          • The Market Trends Report is retrieved with a Daily Breakdown.
          • Other reports can’t be retrieved with a Daily Breakdown. For these Reports Marketing Cloud Intelligence queries Adthena for 7-day batches and receives the aggregated Measurement values for that duration. The End Date of the 7-day period is the value that is mapped to the Marketing Cloud Intelligence ‘Day’ value.
          • The ‘Statistic Span days’ is what determines the number of days in the processing batch while the ‘Sliding Window’ setting determines the number of days queried on each of the Stream’s automatic daily runs. In light of this, the ‘Sliding Window’ setting should also be configured to the same number as the ‘Statistic Span Days’ to allow the Stream to query the source for the number of days that it is configured to process. Should your processing Date Range consist of a sum of days that can’t be divided by the number set as the Statistic Span Days - in this example, 7 - any days that are left over will be aggregated for their own Duration Period.
          • If you wish to create a Daily Breakdown for the Data Stream you create, set both the ‘Statistic Span Days’ and ‘Sliding Window’ to 1 day.

          QA Your Data

          • Create the relevant Adthena Report Type for a certain Date Range.
          • In Marketing Cloud Intelligence, create a Pivot Table for the same Date Range as the Report you generated in Adthena.
          • Compare the Measurement values per row. Be sure not to compare the total Measurement values for more than one row at a time, as the fact that Marketing Cloud Intelligence pulls the Percentage values rather than the raw Measurement values that will lead to a difference between the two views.

QA Market Share, Top Ads and Google Shopping

          • When creating one of these Reports in the Adthena UI, you’ll have to comply with at least one of the processing batches’ Date Ranges and compare your data based on that Date Range. To view the Batch Date Range for which you’ll need to generate the report in the Adthena UI, refer to the relevant Data Stream’s Execution Log.
          • When creating the Pivot Table in Marketing Cloud Intelligence, filter it for one Date value - the last day in the Adthena Report’s Date Range.
          • As in the Marketing Trends Report, any comparisons for Percentage Measurements should be performed per row, rather than for several rows at a time.
