          AppNexus Network API Connector

          AppNexus Network API Connector

AppNexus is a global internet technology company that operates an independent marketplace for digital advertising, and enterprise technology for buyers and sellers of digital ads. AppNexus Network is used to retrieve high-level performance data for a selected member of the AppNexus Network.

          • Channel: Display
          • Data Stream Type:
            • Ads
            • Conversion Tag
          • Data Lag: 1 Day

          Prerequisites

To connect to AppNexus Advertiser, you need a valid AppNexus user with API access enabled on the user level. If your username and password don’t grant you access to the API, contact your AppNexus representative.

          Details

If you don't want to retrieve data for all the available Advertisers, use the Data Load Rules to filter out Advertisers.

          General Setup

After you’ve entered your credentials, select the Member you want to pull data for.

          Extended Properties

          • Location Breakdown - Select this to add a further breakdown to the data retrieved by the API, resulting in a higher level of granularity on which the Measurements can be sliced. The following Breakdown is available when pulling data from the AppNexus Network API, in addition to the standard data being pulled:
            • Country - Select this to pull country data and add the Dimension ‘Country’ to the dataset.
            • TimeZone Breakdown - Select the time zone for which you want to pull data. (This is only available for the Geo Analytics Report. Billing data is always be based in the UTC Time Zone.)
          • Get Conversions Data - Select this checkbox to retrieve Conversion and Revenue data besides the Delivery data retrieved by the API by default. The following fields are added and mapped to the Conversion Tag Data Stream Type:
            • Total Conversions
            • Revenue
            • Post Impression Revenue
            • Post Impression Conversions
            • Post Click Revenue
            • Post Click Conversions
            • Conversion Tag Key
          • Get Creative Level Data - Select this checkbox to retrieve creative level data besides the Delivery data retrieved by the API by default. The following fields are added and mapped to the Conversion Tag Data Stream Type:
            • Creative Name
            • Creative Key
            • Creative Format
          • Get Video Metrics - Select this checkbox to retrieve video metric data besides the Delivery data retrieved by the API by default. (Note that Video Measurements can’t be retrieved along with Billing Period Values). The following fields are added and mapped to the Ads Data Stream Type:
            • Video Plays
            • Video Fully Played
            • Video Competitions 75%
            • Video Competitions 50%

          Known Issues

AppNexus stopped supporting Campaigns in Augmented Line Items (ALI) in August 2019. Instead, they use Splits. Since Campaign ID and Name fields are mapped by default, these fields return empty for ALIs. Split ID and Name are available unmapped.

          QA Your Data

          • Create the desired report in the AppNexus platform for the required date range.
          • Process the relevant Data Stream in Marketing Cloud Intelligence for the same date range.
          • Create a Report/Table Widget/Pivot Table within Intelligence containing the exact same Dimensions and Measurements for the same report and date range.
          • Compare the Measurement Totals and make sure they’re aligned.
